VERT ATTACK 6 MASTERS GALLERY
Cover Nicky Guerrero - Sweeper Footplant Click the photo's for best quality The Masters are a special breed of vert Animals. Pioneers, scarred and battered by decades of a hefty love relationship with the vert ramp.
It's amazing to see the boyish enthousiasm comes out whenever they lay eyes on a vert, and start giving all they have to lay down the sickest tricks. Of course this is a contest, but the masters don't care. They get stoked whenever a rider reaches out beyond himself. That doesn't mean you don't see banger tricks here, nooo you see the craziest array of tricks come out, inverts in all shapes and sizes, and same goes for footplants, fastplants, you see them fly sky high. You see Jocke Olssen almost hit the roof , and then unfortunatly slam one of the , if not the, worst slam of the day. We were lucky to see he had arrived at the party next day. He was limping but he was walking. It's a pitty, I would have really like to see him in the finals. The finals were off the roof though, Nicky Guerrero dished out an amazing array of tricks, being consistant as hell, but all skaters just hit next level. Jeff Hedges had allready been injured an hour after he arrived on the ramp the first day he got to Malmö. but never the less he was skating like his life depended on it. How's that for determination! He was wearing our name on his chest even, for chipping in to get him to Malmö this year. Justin Lynch was flying all over the place, While Mike Vallely was exiting us with a sick ass no complay tailside over the channel. paul atkins ripped, just like Sean Goff who was even more on fire then last year.
This is why I love the masters division, you rarely see that much stoke going on. For me it sets the atmosphere of such an event in a big way.
HAIL to the MASTERS!
